Like most assurance schemes, Red Tractor charges food businesses in the supply chain a licence fee when a Red Tractor claim (which includes use of logos) is being made on product, paperwork, marketing materials and/or websites. Businesses that are Red Tractor licensed receive many benefits. They include reassurance for their customers and consumers that products are British, traceable and farmed with care; fulfilling customer sourcing requirements and being part of one of the most respected schemes in the world for standards. Red Tractor licence fees are kept as low as possible and are based on a business’s declared invoiced sales value of Red Tractor claimed products sold. Red Tractor operates as a not-for-profit, and all licence fees are invested back into running the scheme, including to cover the cost of Traceability Challenges and the marketing of Red Tractor products to consumers.
