Red Tractor Logos
The Union Jack on our logo confirms your food has been produced entirely in the UK, with every step of the food journey checked from farm to pack.
Making it easier for everyone to understand
We have strict rules on how the Red Tractor logo can be used and you might have noticed our logo shows up in different ways across the products we certify. Here’s a guide to our logos to help you understand the products you are buying and what the logo means…
This logo is used for products where the certified ingredient makes up at least 95% of the finished product e.g. milk, fresh produce and meat.
The Certified Standards logo is our stalwart Red Tractor logo and tells you that the product you’re about to buy has been assured from farms to pack and is traceable, safe and farmed with care. We do the work, so you don’t have to.
This logo is used for products where the certified ingredient makes up less than 95% of the finished product, for example, the chicken in a chicken kiev. 100% of the named ingredient or ingredients must be assured.
This means that the named ingredient in the product you’re buying has been assured to Red Tractor standards and, in line with our certified standards, is traceable, safe and farmed with care.
Underpinned by all the Certified Standards, the ‘Enhanced Welfare’ logo is for chicken products where additional welfare requirements have been met. These include the use of slower growing breeds with over 28% more space than is required by European legislation and guaranteed natural light.
Also underpinned by all the Certified Standards, the ‘Free Range’ logo is for poultry products where the birds have had access to outdoor ranges for at least half their life.
