We have partnered with animal welfare experts, vets, agronomists and the entire supply chain since 2000 to continuously strengthen our requirements and drive world-leading standards.
Our traceable, safe and farmed with care promise means consumers feel they can trust a product assured to Red Tractor standards over a non-assured product
Our marketing campaigns communicate the value of Red Tractor to shoppers and increase purchase intent. Our current TV campaign will be seen by 88% of the UK population
Only products that have been farmed, processed and packed in the UK can display the Red Tractor logo. £14 billion of British food & drink carries our logo
WHOLE CHAIN ASSURANCE
In order for any product to carry the Red Tractor logo or make claims about Red Tractor, the whole supply chain must be certified by independent inspectors at every stage from farms to pack. This length, breadth and depth of sectors and standards is unparalleled by any other UK food assurance scheme.
DELIVERING CONSUMER CHOICE
Underpinned by our Core Standards, we also offer Enhanced Welfare and Free Range standards in the poultry sector to deliver greater choice for consumers.

WHAT RED TRACTOR CAN OFFER THAT NO OTHER ASSURANCE SCHEME CAN
Breadth and Depth of Standards
We cover everything from pumpkin to pork and beef to barley and we are the only food assurance scheme in the UK to cover as many sectors and standards as deeply as we do.
Robustness of Standards
This breadth and depth is also matched by the robustness of our inspections. We work with over 450 independent inspectors, all of whom are appropriately trained and sufficiently experienced and together, they conduct over 60,000 inspections a year. When a farm does not meet our requirements, their membership is suspended or revoked. In 2020, nearly 3,000 farms were suspended from our scheme following an unsuccessful inspection.
Buying Specification for all major supermarkets
All of the major supermarkets use Red Tractor standards as part of their food sourcing and supplier specifications.
