TRACEABLE: Only products from British Red Tractor or UK assurance schemes we recognise can hold the Red Tractor logo. This means they can be traced right back through the supply chain to the British farms they came from.
SAFE: Red Tractor is the only UK food assurance scheme to cover as many sectors and standards as deeply as we do to ensure your food is safe. We cover everything from responsible antibiotic and pesticide use to water safety.
FARMED WITH CARE: The welfare of Red Tractor assured farm animals is integral to our standards. We ensure they are healthy with the right living space, food and water. Red Tractor farmers are also required to have regular visits by vets to ensure the wellbeing of their animals.
We develop standards based on science, evidence, best practice and legislation that cover animal welfare, food safety, traceability and environmental protection. Around 50,000 British farmers are accredited to Red Tractor standards, which form the basis of buying and sourcing specifications for major supermarkets, household brands and restaurant chains, ultimately making life simpler for everyone.

ASSURANCE FOR THE WHOLE SUPPLY CHAIN
Our assurance covers the entire food supply chain and we work with over 350 independent inspectors to ensure the most robust assessments possible.
These inspectors are all appropriately trained and sufficiently experienced – together, they conduct over 60,000 inspections a year. The Red Tractor logo can only be used on food that has been produced, transported, stored and packed to the required standards as defined by our licensing rules. The standards in all farming sectors (such as chicken, dairy or vegetables) have been agreed by a panel of experts who represent the whole supply chain to ensure that our standards are rigorous and fit for purpose.
Got questions? We’re here to answer them. To speak to a member of our team about a licensing query, or to start your application process, please get in touch.
