COVID-19: Position on Red Tractor Meat & Poultry Processor Members and Licensees (27/03/2020)

We understand that the fast-moving Covid-19 situation is putting an extreme amount of pressure on the food supply chain, and our meat and poultry processor members and licensees are facing an extremely challenging few months ahead.

Throughout this time shoppers are relying on farmers, food companies and the wider industry to continue as normal wherever possible.

Red Tractor policy has and will continue to follow Government guidelines.

On Wednesday 25th March we suspended all physical Red Tractor Meat and Poultry Processing inspections and traceability challenges (TC) until further notice.

We continue to work with our certification bodies and UKAS to determine what remote assessments and traceability challenges will look like going forward.

For Meat & Poultry Processing members, extensions to current certificates will be granted. Please contact your certification body if your certificate is due to expire. If you have any questions, please contact your certification body who will continue to manage your Red Tractor certification on your behalf.
